Summer is coming and with it comes the festival season and besides legendary festivals such as Tomorrowland there a lot of other options. This article aims to list some of them and offer you some advice for your best picks this year.
1. Dekmantel Festival 1-5 August
The wet dream of every dance enthusiast, that is what dekmantel is all about. It is planned to take place from the first- until the fifth of August in our capital: Amsterdam. This year they again collaborate with Boileroom to guarantee an amazing dance experience. Moreover, they currently plan to use six main locations as the festival grounds, each with their own feel. With impressive artists, collaborations and locations this festival will without a doubt be the banger of the year for any lover of dance music.
2. Woo Hah! 13-15 Juli
In the previous two years, hip hop festival Woo Hah! had such an explosive growth that they no longer fit into the tight terrain of the Spoorzone. In short: they moved to Safari Park Beekse Bergen and get some of the best and prepared some of the most popular international and national hip hop artists. With famous names such as J.Cole & Migos and less known names such as Rich Brian and Action Bronson will definitely provide some quality sounds. If they could keep the super-happening vibe, Woo Hah! might just become the most important hip-hop festival in Europe.
3. Sziget 8-15 August
A well known festival for some, an unknown name for others. Sziget might just be one of the most international festivals out there with artists and guests from inside and outside of Europe. A festival where it is not uncommon for artists to actually join the crowd and then join another artists act. Everything is possible and every nationality is represented and every music style is represented as well! If you want the full festival experience: join the crowd, rent a tent and stay the week!
4.WE ARE ELECTRIC 6-8 July
A festival which you might visit just to experience the prodigy once again or watch legends such as Eric prydz. You might want to go there to find the ideal combination of dance music and hip hop or you might just go there to find the next festival on your list. Whatever reason you go to WE ARE ELECTRIC, good vibes and good music are guaranteed.
